Magnesium sulphate Anhydrous Application

Anhydrous magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) has several common uses in agriculture:
1.Magnesium supplementation: Magnesium is one of the trace elements necessary for plant growth and development. It participates in the synthesis of chlorophyll in plant photosynthesis, promotes the formation of plant chlorophyll and maintains healthy leaves. In the absence of magnesium in the soil, plants are prone to symptoms of magnesium deficiency, including yellowing of leaves and yellowing of leaf margins. By applying anhydrous magnesium sulfate in the soil, the magnesium element in the soil can be supplemented, providing sufficient magnesium supply needed by plants, and promoting the healthy growth of plants.

2.Adjust soil pH: Anhydrous magnesium sulfate can be used as one of the measures to adjust soil pH. When the soil is too acidic or too alkaline, it will affect the absorption and utilization of nutrients by plants. In this case, by applying anhydrous magnesium sulfate, the pH value of the soil can be changed to make it close to neutral, providing suitable cultivation conditions.
3.Promote crop growth: Appropriate application of anhydrous magnesium sulfate can promote crop growth and development. Magnesium is involved in the activation and regulation of various enzymes, and plays an important role in the energy metabolism and carbohydrate synthesis of plants. Appropriate application of anhydrous magnesium sulfate can increase the yield and quality of crops, and improve the stress tolerance of crops.

NOTE: It should be noted that when using anhydrous magnesium sulfate for fertilization, the appropriate application rate and application method should be determined according to the soil test results and the plant’s demand for magnesium. At the same time, the combined use with other fertilizers also needs to be considered to avoid the problem of nutritional imbalance.
